The Punjab Government is soon going to introduce 'patient feedback form' in its hospitals to analyse and rectify the problems being faced by patients across the state.

Necessary directions in this regard had been given by Vini Mahajan, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Punjab, an official release said here.

At present, a "patient satisfaction survey through PGIMER, Chandigarh is in process. Based on the questionnaire developed by PGIMER, this feedback format shall be developed," the release said.

"It would emphasize on key service delivery areas at the health institutions," she has said in the release.

A mechanism to install feedback boxes is also being discussed and will be finalised soon.

The move is aimed at putting in place more accountability and better behaviour by government hospital staff and provide better healthcare facilities to the patients, she said.

Based on the feedback, she said, the government shall identify areas and services that need improvement.

A direct feedback from the patients shall also help the department to analyse specific and general problems facing patients and a strategy can be devised to provide effective solutions.
