Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister B C Khanduri today said people living in mountainous regions are devoid of medical and teaching facilities due to "wrong decisions" taken by the ruling Congress government.
The BJP government had launched "Tabadla (Transfer) Act" which had enforced the service of teachers and doctors in mountainous regions mandatory but the Congress government made the Act defunct, Khanduri said in a statement released here.
He said the Congress government also remained unsuccessful in forcing the BJP government's policy that after getting an MBBS degree, a doctor had to serve in the mountainous regions for five years.
