A 50-year-old Indian-origin jilted husband who barricaded himself inside his 800,000 pounds family home in London even after it was sold when he and his wife separated was jailed by a British court.

Vijay Sisodiya, is to be set free from prison but is expected to be sent back to jail at a hearing in the High Court in London next month for allegedly ignoring court orders.

According to the Evening Standard, the software company chief had to be arrested after he hurled abuse at lawyers who tried to make him leave his four-bedroom house worth around 800,000 pounds in Tolworth, south-west London.

The court was told by his estranged wife Maya, 42, that he began camping out at the house despite it being stripped of all furniture and the electricity being cut off.

Nicholas Yell, representing the wife, told the court the couple who bought the home in 2007 have two children and that their marriage hit the rocks following "irresponsible financial behaviour by the husband", the report said.

After Maya left, the house was put on the market and sold, but when solicitors tried to force him out to make way for the new owners, Sisodiya allegedly became "obstructive and difficult".

"By inference, he would have liked the sale to fall through so that he would continue living in the property," the lawyer said.

Justice Asplin sent Sisodiya to Pentonville prison in London after he refused to give "an unequivocal promise or assurance that he would not return to the property."

The businessman was due to be released in time for a hearing yesterday but because of a mix-up it was discovered during the hearing that he was still behind bars.

The judge ordered his immediate release, but Sisodiya may be sent back to prison when he returns to court in May to answer the contempt of court allegations.

The court was told that Maya had managed to complete the sale of the house while her husband had been in prison.
