Police appeals to citizens not to believe in rumours

Police today said that a false and baseless WhatsApp message has been circulated among a community with the intention of disturbing peace and appealed to citizens not to believe in such rumours.

A release from the special branch of Hyderabad police said that a false message is being circulated among the community which reads, "Be alert in Hyderabad, a gay gang of 2,000 members has arrived from Uttar Pradesh," along with some photographs.

Police said that no gang has come to Hyderabad or its surrounding areas from Uttar Pradesh and that it is a false WhatsApp message which has been circulated among the people with the intention of disturbing peace, the release said.
