Police destroy poppy cultivation

Police today unearthed and distroyed illegal poppy cultivation in Sambhalka village here.

A police party led by Sirmaur SP Soumya Sambsivan destroyed the plantation of over 35,000 poppy plants on 12 bigha of land.

She said that following a tip off, a raid was conducted on the fields owned by one Inder Pal. Pal has been arrested and a case under Section 18 of NDPS Act registered against him.
