Police officer slips into Jhelum, feared dead

A police officer was feared dead today after he slipped into the Jhelum river while bathing at Awantipora in south Kashmir's Pulwama district, police said here.

Special Police Officer Rajinder Singh and one of his colleagues were bathing near the river banks when he accidentally slipped into the waters, said a police official, adding that efforts were on to trace the body.
