Police Sub-Inspector arrested accepting Rs 10,000 bribe

Vigilance sleuths today arrested a Sub-Inspector (SI) on graft charge from Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, a Vigilance department release said.
The Vigilance Investigation Bureau caught Sub-Inspector (SI) Arunjay Kumar posted with Kazi Muhammadpur police station of Muzaffarpur, red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 for favouring a complainant.
One Rita Tiwari, a resident of Gannipur area under Kazi Muhammadpur police station of Muzaffarpur town, had lodged a complaint with the Vigilance department that SI Arunjay Kumar was demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 from her for favouring her in a case pertaining to her husband and son, the release said.

The allegations were found to be correct during the verification carried out by the Bureau, it said.
A flying squad team was constituted under Deputy Superintendent of Police Maharaj Kanishk Kumar who raided and caught Arunjay Kumar red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
The accused would be produced before a Special Vigilance Court at Muzaffarpur after interrogation, the release said.
Altogether 82 persons have been arrested in 75 trap cases laid by the Bureau so far in 2016.
