Power Grid board approves Rs 2.5K cr for transmission projects

State-run Power Grid Corp today said it has approved a cumulative investment of Rs 2,510 crore for various transmission projects, including Rs 1,455.47 crore for strengthening its network in the Southern region.

The company's Board of Directors accorded approval for investment in seven transmission project proposals in their meeting held on January 12, Power Grid said in a BSE filing.

According to the statement, the board approved investment for system strengthening in Southern region at an estimated cost of Rs 1,455.47 crore with commissioning schedule of 30 months.

The board also approved investment for transmission system for an ultra mega solar park (of 750 MW) in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh at a cost of Rs 305.04 crore, with commissioning schedule of 14 months from date of investment approval.
 

It has also approved investment for transmission system strengthening at Mundra Ultra Mega Power Project (Part-A) at an estimated cost of Rs 244.19 crore with the commissioning schedule of 30 months.

The board also gave its nod for investment for transmission system associated with Daripalli Thermal Power Station at an estimated cost of Rs 187.04 crore with commissioning schedule of 29 months from date of investment approval.
