A pregnant woman was allegedly assaulted by the village head for complaining against him, resulting in the death of her unborn child at Tana village here, police said today.
The victim in her FIR alleged that village head Rakesh along with two others, Yogender and Sonu, entered her house yesterday at Tana village here and beat her up.
A case has been registered against the trio under Sections 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 316 (Causing death of quick unborn child by act amounting to culpable homicide) of the IPC, police said, adding that a search is on to nab the accused men.
