Prices of select pulses remain weak on increased supply

The slide in prices of select pulses, led by arhar, continued unabated with rates falling by Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today on persistent supplies after the government intensified anti-hoarding operations to boost supplies.

Besides, retailers deffering their buying activity on hopes of further drop in prices in coming days, as state governments will release over 98,000 tonnes of seized pulses in the open market from next week.

In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety eased by Rs 200 each to Rs 11,300 and Rs 11,600-16,300 per quintal, respectively.

Moong and its dal chilka local moved down by Rs 200 each to Rs 7,100-7,700 and Rs 7,700-8,100 per quintal, respectively.
 

Its dal dhoya local and best quality followed suit and traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 8,000-8,500 and Rs 8,500-8,700 per quintal, respectively.

Following are today's pulses rates (in Rs per quintal):

Urad Rs 9,100-10,100, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 10,100-10,300, Urad best Rs 10,200-10,800, Dhoya Rs 10,600-10,800, Moong Rs 7,100-7,700, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 7,700-8,100, Moong Dhoya local Rs 8,000-8,500 and best quality Rs 8,500-8,700.

Masoor small Rs 6,000-6,800, bold Rs 6,000-6,800, Dal Masoor local Rs 7,100-7,300, best quality Rs 7,200-7,400, Malka local Rs 7,300-7,750, best Rs 7,400-7,800, Moth Rs 5,700-6,100, Arhar Rs 11,300,Dal Arhar Dara Rs 11,600-16,300.

Gram Rs 4,800-5,500, Gram dal (local) Rs 5,100-5,300, best quality Rs 5,200-5,500, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,330, Rajdhani Rs 2,330, Rajma Chitra Rs 5,000-6,400, Kabuli Gram small Rs 5,100-7,600, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,000-5,200, Peas white Rs 2,800-2,825 and green Rs 3,050-3,150.
