Priest killed by Maoists in Odisha

A tribal village priest was killed by suspected Maoists in a remote area of Odisha's Malkangiri district early today, the police said.

A group of ultras came to the house of Irma Kabasi (45) at Supalu village near Poteru in Kalimela area in the wee hours and took him out.

The body of Kabasi with his throat slit was found later in a forest area on the outskirt of the village in the Maoist-affected region, the sources said adding Maoists were suspected to have killed the priest.
