Prohibitory orders have been imposed under CrPc 144 here ahead of the 57th death anniversary of dalit leader Immanuel Sekaran on September 11.
The promulgation of regulatory orders has been done to prevent any untoward incidents, District Collector Nandakumar said today. The order would come to effect from today and would be withdrawn at a suitable time later.
Five persons were killed and 30 others injured when police fired on a stone-pelting crowd at Paramakudi on September 11,2011, when those who had gathered to pay homage to the leader allegedly turned violent.
