A Tamil protagonist outfit today staged demonstration here protesting against the Centre's stand in opposing release of seven convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.
Tamizh Desiya Kootamaippu (Tamil National Confederation), held protest near the Shastri Bhawan complex that houses several Central government offices holding placards denouncing the Centre.
"Is 23 years of imprisonment not enough? Should Tamils be punished still? were among the slogans that were raised against the Centre.
Police, who detained the protesters for a brief period, later release them.
