Enforcement Directorate here has attached an amount of Rs 1.25 crore of a multi-level marketing company for allegedly cheating and duping the investors on the pretext of high returns, an ED official said today.
The company was allegedly involved in forgery, cheating and duping the investors in the name of multi-level marketing promising high returns, ED Assistant Director Omprakash Saharan here said. Later, the company ran away with the money to the tune of 44.82 crore, he said.
The zonal office had registered a complaint against the company on March 22 last year and attached the amount lying in 12 accounts with five different banks on February 20 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act- 2002, he said.
Joint Director, ED, Jaipur has issued provisional attachment order under Section 5 of the PMLA act.
