Villagers protesting rape of a class IX student by a government school teacher here today demanded formation of a ten member committee to probe the incident and arrest of all accused within two days, failing which they would force all schools in the state to close.
The protestors in Farain Kalan village in the district did not allow eight new school teachers, who arrived here after the school's entire staff was transferred following the May 16 incident, to teach, and forced shut a school in a neighbouring village, police said.
Parents of those studying at the government school said they would not send their children to that school and would teach them at home.
