Veteran Rabindra Sangeet singer Purabi Mukhopadhyay passed away at her city residence tonight after suffering from age related health problems. She was 83.
Her two daughters and countless students were at her side when she breathed her last at 6 30 pm, her family members said.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed grief over her demise. Banerjee offered her condolences to the family and students.
