Rail traffic was today disrupted for several hours after an iron beam of an under construction bridge fell on a freight train at the railway station here.
Station Master Shahid Imam said that a new overbridge was being constructed at the railway station for which a heavy iron beam was being lifted.
"During this process, the beam got entangled in a wire and fell on the freight train, damaging one bogie," he said, adding that the incident affected train movement on the route.
He said around half-a-dozen trains were stopped and resumed only after two-and-a-half hours when the bogie was removed.
