Railways, Maharashtra, Haryana, AP in semis

Indian Railways, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana and Maharashtra today entered semi-finals of the 64th Senior National Women Kabaddi Championship here.

Star-studded Indian Railways moved into semi-final defeating Punjab by 45-30 in the championship being played at the Patliputra Sports Complex.

In the first quarter final match of the day, Indian Railways took lead 18-13 at the half time.

Randeep Kaur worked hard for Punjab team scoring 22 points but it proved not enough. Finally, Railways beat Punjab 45-30.

Railways bagged 8 bonus and 6 lona points while Punjab earned 10 bonus points and 2 lona.

In the second match, Andhra Pradesh defeated Uttar Pradesh by 27-20. At the Half time score was 9-8.
 

Uttar Pradesh earned 11 bonus points while Andhra Pradesh bagged 4 bonus points and 2 lona.

In other two matches, Haryana beat Himachal Pradesh by 32-24. In a closely-fought match, Himachal Pradesh took lead 15-14 but failed to maintain it in the second half.

Haryana girls came from behind to snatch lead with 5 bonus and 4 lona points finished with 32-24 points.

In the fourth match, Maharashtra pipped Chandigarh 36-19 in a one-sided match taking 13-9 lead at the half time.
