Rehabilitation package distributed to 30 Bru families

Rehabilitation and resettlement package were distributed today to the repatriated 30 Bru families at Mamit district bordering Tripura, state home department officials said.

The officials said that Rs 85,000 was disbursed to each of the Bru families and they would also receive free ration for a year.

Forty families were disbursed their shares yesterday, the officials said, adding that 886 Brus belonging to 173 families returned to Mizoram during the five-day repatriation in June.
