17 kg chemicals used for explosives in quarries seized

: About 17 kg of chemicals used to make explosives for quarries and manfacturing crackers have been seized from the residence of a woman and her son here, police said.

They said the material was found buried in the garden of their house yesterday.

The chemicals include nitrite, sulphur, sulphur powder, carbon powder. A total of 100 crackers were also seized.

The duo were produced before the judicial magistrate here, who remanded them to 15 days custody.
