Robbery at lawyer's house

A group of armed men barged into the house of a lawyer in Vijay Nagar area here and allegedly looted cash and jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh after holding the family hostage at gunpoint.

According to the complaint, armed youths forcefully entered lawyer Sudhanshu Sharma's residence in Vakil Colony around 10:30 pm yesterday and held him and his family hostage for an hour.

The robbers escaped with cash and jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh, according to police.

A case has been registered at Vijay Nagar police station.

"We are investigating the case and accused would be arrested soon," said a senior police officer.
