A 50-year-old RPF jawan who had allegedly threatened to end his life in front of the RPF office at Mumbai Central was held today as he reached the spot here.

Head Constable Dayashankar Mishra was allegedly upset over his frequent transfer and had threatened to commit suicide, but his bid was foiled and he was brought to the Nagpada police station, a senior police official said.

During questioning, police came to know that Mishra was upset over frequent transfers and other administrative issues.

The RPF officials have been informed about his grievances, the official said.

"We then sent the jawan back to Western Railway command after pacifying him," he said.

The jawan is currently posted at Bhayander and his retirement is due next year.
