School building torched in Churachandpur

A school building located at the heart of Churachandpur town in Manipur was torched last night by some unidentified miscreants, police officers said.

All private schools in Churachandpur district in Manipur were closed today in protest against the torching of St Peter school building.

The Churachandpur District Private Schools Association (CDPSA) condemned the arson in its meeting held today at Churachandpur, said a press release issued by CDPSA today.

Zomi Students Federation, Kuki Students Organisation, Churachandpur and Hmar Students Association in a joint statement issued today also strongly condemned the burning down of the school building.

The police have registered a case and investigations were on, the officers added.
