Democratic Party of India were today arrested for staging a sit-in in front of the Central Jail here demanding release of prisoners who have been imprisoned for more than ten years, police said.

Naam tamizhar Iyakkam and Manithaneya Makkal Katchi activits had also joined the picketing programmem, but most of them dispersed when police started arresting the protesters, police said.
