LGBT community organises 'Queer Pride March'

Hundreds of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) community members took out a march here today demanding a life of dignity.
The sixth edition of the 'Queer Pride March', which began from 'Manaveeyam Veedhi' here, also had the presence of social activists and writers who support the cause of the marginalised group.
The organisers said the event was aimed at igniting the spirit of LGBT community members who was marginalised from mainstream society.
Revoking of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, which criminalises sexual activities "against the order of nature", was one of the major demands the community members raised during the event.
