Select copra surges on fresh offtake

Copra office Alapuzha, Copra office Kozhikode and copra Rajapur prices surged at the spices market here today due to renewed demand from stockists amid higher export offtake.

Elsewhere, black pepper and ginger prices also recovered smartly on good retail offtake following renewed export enquiries.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai shot-up by Rs 1,000 per quintal to Rs 17,000 from last Friday's closing level of Rs 16,000.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra Kozhikode climbed by Rs 200 per quintal each to Rs 10,400 and Rs 10,200 as against Rs 10,200 and Rs 10,000 yesterday.

Black pepper, ginger bleach and unbleached rose by Rs 15 per kg each to Rs 575/675, Rs 230 and Rs 250 from Rs 560, Rs 215 and Rs 235 last Friday.
