Army exhibits weapons and artillery in Noida-based college

The Indian Army today inaugurated a two-day 'Military Weapons and Equipments Display' at Amity University here to encourage students to join the armed forces.

Weapons and Artillery on display included -- T-72 and T-90 tanks, Integrated Air Defence System - Schilka, Bofors Guns, 130 MM Long Range Artillery Gun, AK - 47 rifle and Medium Machine Gun among other weapons.

Automatic Grenade Launcher, Mounted Rocket Launcher, Anti Tank Guided Missiles, 81 MM Mortars, Sniper Station on a Machan, Battle Field Surveillance Radar, Nuclear Biological & Chemical Kit (NBC) and High Altitude Equipment and Night Vision Devices were also on display.
 

Army personnel demonstrated a mock drill to simulate battlefield conditions in the campus.

On the 10th anniversary of the University, recruiting cells of Army, Navy and Air Force updated students with the process to join the defense services.

Defence personnels are heading the various institutions of Amity and have contributed in planning and providing good quality education to students, founder President of Amity Group, Ashok K Chauhan said.

Senior Armed Forces Officers including Lt Gen Rakesh Sharma, Adjutant General, Indian Army were present for the inauguration.
