Weak conditions prevailed at the wholesale grains market today as select grains prices drifted up to Rs 100 per quintal on sluggish demand.
Traders said sluggish demand against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on select grains.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety eased by Rs 100 each to Rs 8,900-9,400 and Rs 8,200-9,000 per quintal, respectively.
Wheat dara (for mills) declined by Rs 5 to Rs 16,450-1,645 per quintal, while atta chakki delivery shed Rs 15 at Rs 1,645-1,650 per 90 kg.
Bajra, maize and barley also ended lower at Rs 1,260-1,265, Rs 1,400-1,405 and Rs 1,400-1,405 as compared to previous levels of Rs 1,265-1,270, Rs 1,410-1,415 and Rs 1,420-1,425 per quintal, respectively.
