Select varieties of gur prices fell up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market today owing to slackened demand from local parties and stockists.
Similar trend was also extended to Muzaffarnagar markets.
Marketmen said subdued demand from local parties and stockists against adequate stocks on higher supplies from producing areas mainly led to the fall in select gur prices.
In the national capital, gur chakku and shakkar fell by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 2,750-2,850 and Rs 3,000-3,100 per quintal, respectively.
At Muzaffarnagar, gur chakku and khurpa also eased to Rs 2,450-2,600 and Rs 2,350-2,400 against last close of Rs 2,500-2,650 and Rs 2,450-2,500 per quintal, respectively.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 2,750-2,850, pedi Rs 2,900-3,000, dhayya Rs 3,000-3,100 and shakkar Rs 3,000-3,100.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,400-2,450, chakku Rs 2,450-2,600, khurpa Rs 2,350-2,400 and Ladoo Rs 2,500-2,550.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,550-2,650 and dhayya Rs 2,650-2,700.
