Select pulses remain weak on muted demand

Select pulses led by arhar fell up to Rs 300 per quintal at the wholesale market today due to sluggish demand from retailers against sufficient stocks.

Marketmen said tepid demand from retailers at prevailing levels against adequate stocks position kept pressure on arhar and other pulses.

Arhar eased to Rs 10,500 against last close of Rs 10,800 per quintal. Its dal dara variety, however, held steady at Rs 11,500-14,500 per quintal.

Meanwhile, arhar dal retail prices also declined by Rs 5 to Rs 170 per kg in the national capital

Gram also weakened by Rs 25 to Rs 5,175-5,625 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality declined by Rs 50 each to Rs 5,350-5,650 and Rs 5,550-5,850 per quintal respectively.

Masoor small Rs 5,600-6,600, bold Rs 5,650-6,650, Dal Masoor local Rs 6,800-7,000, best quality Rs 6,900-7,100, Malka local Rs 6,900-7,300, best Rs 7,000-7,500, Moth Rs 5,800-6,200, Arhar Rs 10,500, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 11,500-14,500.

Gram Rs 5,175-5,625, Gram dal (local) Rs 5,350-5,650, best quality Rs 5,550-5,850, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,340, Rajdhani Rs 2,340, Rajma Chitra Rs 4,900-6,300, Kabuli Gram small Rs 5,200-7,600, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,000-5,200, Peas white Rs 2,700-2,725 and green Rs 2,950-3,050.
