SI suspended following fight with colleague

The Madurai Commissioner of Police today ordered suspension of a sub-inspector of Avaniyapuram police station for fighting with his colleague recently in full public view.

Departmental inquiry revealed that SI Durai was the aggressor, police said.

Police said Durai and the other SI Premachandran were attached to the Tallakulam police station earlier. Coming from the same batch, both of them used to be good friends. But the friends turned foes after a fight recently, police said.

A wordy duel turned into a fight when the two exchanged blows in full public view. As the information reached higher authorities, the two were summoned for inquiry.
 

Refusing to admit the incident both lied that they were not involved in the quarrel.However, during another round of inquiry they confessed and Durai was suspended,police said.
