Silver prices declined 0.19% to Rs 35,937 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their exposure amid a weak trend in global markets.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, silver prices for delivery in September contracts traded lower by Rs 70, or 0.19%, to Rs 35,937 per kg in business turnover of 182 lots.
Similarly, the white metal prices for delivery in far-month December declined Rs 43, or 0.12%, to Rs 36,732 per kg in business volume of 12 lots.
In the international market, silver prices fell 0.30% to 15.39 an ounce in Singapore.
Analysts attributed the fall in silver prices in futures trade to a weak trend in global markets as investors turned their attention back to the timing of US interest-rate hikes after China signaled support for its currency.
