Silver up 0.3% on global cues

Silver prices moved up by Rs 143 to Rs 47,955 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up positions amid a higher global trend.
In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September gained Rs 143, or 0.30%, to Rs 47,955 per kg, in a business turnover of 1,725 lots.
Also, the white metal for delivery in far-month December was up by Rs 113, or 0.23%, to Rs 49,085 per kg in 32 lots.
Analysts said speculators created fresh positions in tune with higher global trend, pushing silver prices higher at the futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver traded marginally higher at $20.31 an ounce in Singapore.
