Small sugar prices rise on millers offtake

Small sugar prices rose at the Vashi wholesale market here today on good stockist buying on the back higher millers offtake.

Meanwhile, medium sugar eased due to reduced demand from retailers.

Small sugar (S-30) climbed by Rs 11/10 per quintal to Rs 3,080/3,141 from Monday's closing level of Rs 3,069/3,131.

However, medium sugar (M-30) moved down by Rs 5 per quintal to Rs 3,172/3,331 from Rs 3,172/3,336.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,080/3,141 (Rs 3,069/3,131).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,172/3,331 (Rs 3,172/3,336).
