Small sugar surges on consistent demand

Small sugar prices surged at the Vashi wholesale market here today following consistent demand from stockists and bulk consumers amidst restricted supply from mills.

While, medium sugar ended mixed owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Small sugar (S-30) prices firmed up further by Rs 10/28 per quintal to Rs 3,702/3,800 from Tuesday's close Rs 3,692/3,772.

However, medium sugar (M-30) were quoted at Rs 3,726/3,996 as against Rs 3,740/3,992 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,702/3,800 (Rs 3,692/3,772).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,726/3,996 (Rs 3,740/3,992).
