Union Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju today announced to provide Rs 30 lakh from his parliamentary funds to establish one MW solar power plant in the town out of the total Rs five crore required.
Addressing a review meeting with officials of Zilla Parishad and municipal authorities on town development works here, the Civil Aviation Minister directed them to speed up several works in the town, including widening of main roads, modernisation of parks and drinking water works.
"All the road widening work should be completed as per the scheduled time and the government would not spare delay in work," the minister said adding that the contractors, who do not properly work, would be removed as per the norms and the same works would be allotted to some other contractors.

The minister also cautioned that the contractors who are not maintain the quality work would be black listed.
The Minister asked the officials to reduce unnecessary expenses in civic department and use the amount for development and welfare schemes.
Ashok also asked the officials concerned to identify the places in the town for development of tourism.
