Spokesman: former Yanukovych aide shot

A spokesman says the former chief of staff of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych is hospitalized after being wounded by gunfire.

Artem Petrenko tells The Associated Press that Andriy Klyuyev was shot yesterday and is hospitalized.

Petrenko, Klyuyev's spokesman, said today he did not have details on the attack and did not know what hospital he was in.

He also confirmed that Klyuyev resigned his post on Sunday. Klyuyev was among the figures most despised by protesters in Ukraine's three-month political turmoil.
