Refined soya oil prices were up by 0.69 per cent to Rs 621.70 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market.

Besides, tight stocks on restricted supplies from producing regions supported the upside.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in January month rose by Rs 4.25, or 0.69 per cent to Rs 621.70 per 10 kg with an open interest of 1,02,220 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in February moved up by Rs 4.20, or 0.68 per cent to Rs 621.50 per 10 kg in 58,070 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade to fresh positions built up by traders due to pick up in demand in the spot market.
