An Inspector of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) died under mysterious circumstances in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said here today.
Inspector Ramesh Chandra Joshi was a resident of Uttrakhand. He was currently posted at Sangaldhan area of Ramban district to provide security cover to the railway construction companies, a police officer said.
Joshi was found unconscious in his room after which he was brought to the district hospital, where doctors declared him as brought dead, the officer said.
Police have registered a case and started probe into the case, he said adding that the body would be handed over to Joshi's relatives after postmortem and other legal formalities.
