Socialist Janata (Democratic) Party President M P Veerendra Kumar today emphasized the need to strengthen the Green movement to preserve the environment and protect natural resources.
Delivering the Bodheswaran memorial lecture here, he said natural resources are getting depleted due to over exploitation. The need of the hour was to preserve nature, he said, adding many of the natural resources have become commercial commodities, an example of which is water.
"The day is not far off when water will become a scarce commodity," he said.

Stating that technologies are not an alternative to everything, he urged people to maintain the equilibrium between man and nature.
The lecture was organised by the Bodheswaran Foundation in memory of well-known writer and freedom fighter Bodheswaran.
