A powerful 'pipe bomb', similar to the one recovered recently near the residence of Union Minister V Narayanaswamy in Puducherry, was found near a compound wall of a private wholesale market at nearby Uthangudi today, police said.
They said it was packed with explosive chemicals and both sides sealed with a 'coupling net' and connected to a wire.
The other end of the wire was found connected to a PET jar filled with petrol.
