Student dies following scuffle in private college hostel

A second year intermediate student died today allegedly due to a severe head injury after he fell on a stone during a scuffle with a fellow student at a hostel of a private college in Jangaon of Warangal district.

On June 30, Madipeddi Umesh, allegedly had a scuffle with another student in the hostel where both of them resided, Jangoan Circle Inspector Sreenivas said.

During the scuffle, Umesh allegedly fell on a stone and sustained severe head injury, after which he was admitted to a hospital, he said.

He died at a private hospital in Hyderabad today, Sreenivas said.

We have received a complaint against the student with whom Umesh had a scuffle, but no case has been registered yet, police said.
