Sugar dips on weak demand

Both varieties of sugar continued its bearishness at the Vashi wholesale market here today on weak demand from stockists, retailers and bulk consumers.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 3,896/3,992 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 3,896/4,002.

Medium sugar (M-30) also eased by Rs 4 per quintal to Rs 3,946/4,162 as against Rs 3,950/ 4162 previously.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,896/3,992 (Rs 3,896/4,002).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,946/4,162 (Rs 3,950/4,162).
