Sugar eased on lower demand

Both the variety of sugar prices slipped modestly at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to lower demand from stockists and retailers.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 4 per quintal to Rs 3,566/3,662 from Monday's closing level of Rs 3,570/3,662.

Medium sugar (M-30) moved down by Rs 2 per quintal to Rs 3,640/3,762 as against Rs 3,642/3,762 previously.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,640/3,762 (Rs 3,642/3,762).

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,566/3,662 (Rs 3,570/3,662).
