Sugar ends lower on heavy supply, weak demand

Sugar prices dropped by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today after heavy supplies from mills against limited offtake by stockists and bulk consumers.

Marketmen attributed the fall to increased supplies from mills amid muted demand from stockists and bulk consumers, such as soft-drinks and ice-cream makers.

In price section, sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices settled lower by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,380-3,500 and Rs 3,370-3,490 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 also enquired lower by Rs 40 each to Rs 3,080-3,195 and Rs 3,070-3,185 per quintal.

In millgate section, sugar Dhanora and Chandpur dropped most by Rs 50 each at Rs 3,090 and Rs 3,080 per quintal.
 

Sugar Khatuli, Dhampur, Simbholi and Malakpur dipped by Rs 40 each at Rs 3,170, Rs 3,090, Rs 3,170 and Rs 3,100, while Mawana, Asmoli, Dorala, Sakoti, Budhana, Thanabhavan and Nazibabad lost Rs 30 each at Rs 3,130, Rs 3,160, Rs 3,130, Rs 3,110, Rs 3,130, Rs 3,120 and Rs 3,100 per quintal respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 33.00-39.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,380-3,500, S-30 Rs 3,370-3,490.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,080-3,195, S-30 Rs 3,070-3,185.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,130, Kinnoni Rs 3,195, Asmoli Rs 3,160, Dorala Rs 3,130, Budhana Rs 3,130, Thanabhavan Rs 3,120, Dhanora Rs 3,090, Simbholi Rs 3,170, Khatuli Rs 3,170, Dhampur Rs 3,090, Ramala Rs 3,110, Anupshaher Rs 3,100, Baghpat Rs 3,120, Morna Rs 3,120, Sakoti Rs 3,110, Chandpur Rs 3,080, Nazibabad Rs 3,100 and Malakpur Rs 3,100.
