Sugar slips on ample supply

The slide in sugar prices continued unabated at the wholesale market in the national capital today following persistent supplies by millers amid slackness in demand from bulk consumers and recorded a fall of Rs 20 per quintal.

Marketmen said besides adequate stocks following increased supplies by mills, slackened demand from bulk consumers following end of festive season, weighed on sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices slided by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,050-3,270 and Rs 3,040-3,260 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 also enquired lower at Rs 2,880-3,120 and Rs 2,870-3,100 instead of Rs 2,880-3,130 and Rs 2,870-3,110 per quintal.
 

In the millgate section, private mills like Asmoli dropped the most by Rs 35 at Rs 3,080 per quintal, followed by Dhanora and Simbholi by Rs 15 each at Rs 2,980 and Rs 3,100 per quintal.

Kinnoni and Thanabhavan also eased by Rs 10 each at Rs 3,120 and Rs 3,005 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 32.00-35.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,050-3,270 S-30 Rs 3,040-3,260.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,880-3,120 S-30 Rs 2,870-3,100.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,050, Kinnoni Rs 3,120 Asmoli Rs 3,080 Dorala Rs 3,035 Budhana Rs 3,015 Thanabhavan Rs 3,005 Dhanora Rs 2,980 Simbholi Rs 3,100 Modi Nagar Rs 2,970, Khatuli Rs 3,080 Dhampur (gila) Rs 2,860 Ramala Rs 2,900 Bulandshahr Rs 2,990 Anupshahr Rs 2,880 Baghpat Rs 2,920 Morna Rs 2,910 Sakoti Rs 2,940 Chandpur Rs 2,945 and Nazibabad Rs 2,900.
