Sugar prices weakened modestly at the Vashi wholesale market here today on lower demand from stockists and retailers amid ample supply positions.
Small sugar (S-30) declined by Rs 15 per quintal to Rs 2,685/2,791 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 2,700/2,791.
Medium sugar (M-30) moved down by Rs 2 per quintal to Rs 2,810/2,952 as against Rs 2,812/2,952.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,685/2,791 (Rs 2,700/2,791).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,810/2,952 (Rs 2,812/2,952.
