Sultry weather condition continued to prevail in most parts of Haryana and Punjab including Chandigarh, which did not see much rainfall even after southwest monsoon advanced over the two states around a week back.
Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, recorded a maximum temperature of 36.9 degrees Celsius, up three notches against the normal level.
Hisar in Haryana registered a high of 34.9 degrees Celsius while Ambala recorded a maximum of 35.4 degrees Celsius, up two notches against normal.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 35.4 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded above-normal maximums at 35.3 degrees Celsius and 37 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The weatherman has predicted rain or thundershowers at many places in Punjab and Haryana over the next two days.
