Hot and humid weather conditions continued to prevail in most parts of Punjab and Haryana today.
Chandigarh, where sultry weather prevailed, recorded a maximum temperature of 36.8 degrees Celsius, up two notches against the normal limits, a MeT department report said here.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 37.3 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.

Ludhiana recorded a maximum temperature of 36.2 degrees Celsius while Patiala had a hot and humid day at 36.5 degrees Celsius, even though both these towns received light rains.
In Haryana, sultry weather prevailed in Ambala, which recorded a high of 36.8 degrees Celsius while Hisar residents also sweated it out with maximum temperature being 39 degrees Celsius.
Karnal recorded a high of 35.2 degrees Celsius.
The MeT has forecast that rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Haryana and Punjab over the next two days.
