The State Vigilance Organisation today booked three persons in Udhampur, including the former executive officer of Udhampur Municipal Corporation, for raising illegal constructions.
A case has been registered against the then executive officer Ravi Kumar, and the beneficiaries -- Neeraj Gupta and Dheeraj Gupta -- who had allegedly made constructions in violation of building permission and sanctioned plan, an SVO officer said.
"The verification (conducted by SVO) has revealed that the residential building permission was issued to the beneficiaries with permission to cover 3,189.5 square feet at ground floor and 2,582 square feet at first floor," he said.
"However, the beneficiaries, in utter violation of approved plan, constructed 4,835.5 square feet more than the approved plan," he added.
The SVO officer said that although the beneficiaries were issued notice for the violations, it was mere hogwash and was done with an attempt to buy some time to raise said construction.
"A mere formality of issuing notice has been conducted, but no action as warranted under Municipal Act has been under taken," he said.
"The investigation in the case has been started," he added.
